Jelly Bean Switch
The Jelly Bean switch is idle for people with mobility impairment and for users who are able to access a smaller target area. With just a tap anywhere on its activation surface you can easily get access to various battery-operated and switch adapted devices. The Jelly Bean is a simple mechanical switch which can be used to control speech generating devices, toys, environmental control units and computers. The round surface area is 63.5 mm (2.5 inches) in diameter and when activated provides a definite auditory “click” and travel of approximately 3 to 4 mm. This auditory and proprioceptive feedback can be useful when the switch is out of sight, for example mounted as a head switch, or for knee or elbow access.
This switch can be positioned for use at almost any switch site. Mounting accessories are available for this purpose. The switch has three screw holes around the base for mounting, or it could easily be secured to a surface with hook and loop fastener. The colorful tops are interchangeable. Red, blue, green and yellow caps are supplied with the switch. The cable is 190 cm long and the jack is a 3.5mm phone plug.
The switch can be activated from anywhere across the entire diameter. The popular Jelly Bean version requires just 65g of force, whereas the Big switch requires 110g and the Specs 100g.
